The tough polyester fabric used for the skin is very strong. When the skin is coated with the two types of polyurethane it is almost impossible to puncture and is very abrasion resistant. The Excalibur series of kayaks are based on the Aleut Baidarka, an exceptional example of Inuit craftsmanship. WILLOW has designed this series to retain the speed and sea handling characteristics of the Baidarka while building in the comfort, stability, durability and ease of paddling the modern paddler demands. The excellent stability comes from the Aleut hull shape. The waterline length is almost as long as the boat itself.

An adjustable exterior skeg at the stern makes slight adjustments for weathercocking a breeze. The hull shape which gives such stability and speed, also provides for plenty of storage space fore and aft, giving spacious cargo area for long camping trips and extra buoyancy.
